Dinthar Local Council band won the Seki U-19 Inter- Village Band Contest 2022 held at Vanapa Hall last night.
Highly applauded for their originality in music and their dedication to the competition, the four member band bagged a cash prize of Rs. 250000. The winning band's vocalist Fedric Lalthanpuia took home the Best Vocalist title and Lalfamkima from the same band was awarded the Best Drummer title.
Chhinga Veng LC won the second prize with their own unique style of mysic and performance. The third prize was bagged by promising young musicians from Ramhlun South LC who won many hearts through the competition.
Among other individual titles, Manase Lalrohlua of Ramthar Veng LC was awarded the Best Keyboardist title. Joseph Lalchhandama of Ramthar Veng LC bagged the Best Guitarist title in the competition. C. Lalruatfela from Ramhlun LC won the Best Bassist title.
The open category results will be announced tonight accompanied by performances from popular bands within the state. Started in 2019, the competition has attracted youths and music lovers all over the state and has become a convenient platform for promoting young talents.
