The state government has issued on order today announcing the revocation of the curfew restrictions for the safety of the public and for smooth functioning of rhe daily lives of the people.

Under the authorisations given by Section 144 CrPC (Act No. 2 of 1974) , curfews initiated in areas around Aizawl from 9:00 PM- 4:00 AM has been revoked due to the decline of the Covid statistics . However, people are requested to comply to the SOP guidelines initiated by the Government for their own safety. The curfew, inposed for for more than 2 years in the AMC area has been a much heated topic of public discussion since last year. Many are of the opinion that the night curfew has little to do in the fight against Covid-19 and that the night curfew only proves to be a hurdle in public movement.
