Land Owners' Association (Vairengte-Kawnpui package 3-6 NH-06&306) have imposed indefinite road block on National Highway 306,demanding compensation from the government on account of the expansion into a four lane highway, implemented by the NHIDCL (National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited).
According to reports, there have been no vehicles entering from Vairengte since 6 o' clock this morning . The land owners association claim they have intention of blocking any transit from Mizoram side. However, local sources say there has been a rising amount of travellers stranded on the outskirts of the town.
