As the second wave of Covid-19 sweeps through the state, with 1778 active cases, the state Government of Mizoram has declared a total lockdown to be observed throughout the state from 10.05.2021 to 17.05.2021.

The government is currently imposing partial lockdown in the different district headquarters within the state. Recently, five localities within the Aizawl Municipal area have been declared as Containment zones to prevent further spread of the virus and to enable smooth and effective contact tracing. The state-wide total lockdown is to be observed from 10.05.2021, 4:00 AM.
