Pu Lalrotluanga , a resident of Sihhmui, working as a caretaker of a rubber plantation at Nghalchawm tortured his wife to death yesterday. He later attempted suicide by setting himself on fire with explosives along with the corpse of his wife. He was immediately rushed to Aizawl Civil Hospital after suffering serious injuries on his left arm and chin.
Lalvenpuii, the unfortunate victim and wife of Lalrotluanga, lived with her husband at the rubber plantation where they both worked as caretakers. Yesterday, they had a heated argument after which Lalrotluanga physically assaulted his wife which resulted in her death. An all women's organisation, MHIP, Aizawl Govt. Complex branch made an official statement, condemning the tragic crime committed against a helpless woman.
