Hari Babu Kambhampati has been appointed as the 15th Governor of Mizoram. The appointment was declared yesterday 6 July, 2021 by Ram Nath Kovind, the President of India.

Hari Babu Kambhampati is a former member of the parliament to the 16th Lok Sabha from Andhra Pradesh. He is also a former unit President of the Bharat Janata Party (BJP) in Andhra Pradesh. Mizoram. He received his PhD degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering from Andhra University and continued to pursue teaching career. He retired as an Associate Professor from the university in 1993 to build participate in politics full time. Meanwhile, the former Governor of Mizoram, PS Shreedharan Pillai has been transferred and appointed as the new Governor of Goa. 

President Ram Nath Kovind appointed a total of eight new governors, giving charge of administration in different new states:

 

Mizoram- Hari Babu Kambhampati

Goa- PS Shreedharan Pillai

Haryana- Bandaru Battaraya

Himachal Pradesh- Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar

Karnataka- Thaawarchand Gehlot

Tripura- Satyadev Narayan Arya

Jharkhand- Ramesh Bais

Madhya Pradesh- Mangubhai Chhaganbhai Patel

According to the official announcement made by the President, the appointments will take effect from the dates they assume charge of their respective offices.
