Over 200 medical staff at the Christian Medical College (CMC) Hospital in Vellore have tested positive for Covid-19. According to reports, the new positive patients in lude doctors and nurses on dury at the hospital.

 

With the absence of adequate infrastructure for health care, particularly in relation to cancer, CMC Hospital, Vellore is one of the most visited hospitals by the Mizo community every year for the diagnosis and treatment of cancer and other diseases. The reputed institute has been a preferred healthcare destination for thr Mizo people and others from North East states seeking long-term treatment or check up over the years. The unfortunate rise in Covid cases is bound to affect hundreds of patients who are undertaking treatment at the hospital.

Currently, the hospital has temporarily stopped online booking for treatments, outpatient (OP) visits and other non-emergency treatments and surgeries. Only emergency services are provided.
