Mizoram University has placed itself in the Top 20 of the recently published IIRF University Ranking 2023, under the Central University category, surpassing all other Universities in the NorthEast.

Mizoram University, established in July 2001, sits on a sprawling campus in Tanhril, Aizawl and currently comprises of nine different schools :

1. School of Economics Management & Information Sciences 

2. School of Earth Sciences & Natural Resources Management

3. School of Life Sciences

4. School of Physical Sciences 

5. School of Social Sciences

6. School of Education & Humanities 

7. School of Engineering & Technology

8. School of Fine Arts, Architecture & Fashion

9. School of Medical & Paramedical 

The University also houses a Centre for study of disability, an Incubation Centre, a Women's Study Centre and has also signed an MoU for a Software Technology Park. At present, the University has 31 undergraduate colleges affiliated, with over 80,000 students. 

The Indian Institutional Ranking Framework (IIRF) provides a comprehensive framework for evaluating institutions on seven broad parameters and sub level attributes. It aims to help universities and higher education institutions in identifying gaps and improving performance on various ranking parameters.
